I tried to install the QT Web Browser IPKG from IHAD for Enigma2 (enigma2-plugin-extensions-webbrowser_0.1.20_mipsel.ipk) but it did not work. It seemed to install OK, no errors, but when activated nothing happened.

Has anyone got QT Web Browser working in PLi for DM800?

Has anyone got a recommendations for getting QT to work or a recommendation for another Internet Web Browser Plug-in for the DM800?

Anyone?

What I want to do is watch News (video) from the major networks via the internet from their web site. I want to keep up with the issues back home.

Is this possible on the DM800 or am I dreaming?

I don't think you should expect embedded video in web pages to work. I'd be surprised if it did. Maybe you'd like to try with a gemeni image?
Also, do you know if there is a source repository for the webbrowser?

You could use the rss reader plugin to keep up to date, it requires reading though ;).

Thanks for the reply Sjaaky

So watching Flash or other internet video is impossible with a DM800? How does the YouTube plugin get around this?

Also, why would the Gemini image be any better at this than the Open PLI IMAGE?

1) It is possible to watch h264 video. This is format is used by youtube. Youtube uses a flashplayer to show it in a browser. You can show the video directly, but I'd be surprised if it works inside the browser plugin. As far as I know there is no flash implementation for the dreambox.
2) Because the plugin was probably written with a gemini image in mind.

Thanks for the explanation.

I guess I will have to wait for some keen Dreambox programming guru to come up with something in the future.
