I would like to know if there is a driver fort the RTL2832U with R820T tuner that works on VU+ Duo or if one of you specialists  can make that happen
My China Stick with RTL2832U chipset would enlarge my "TV pleasure" by making it possible to see some channels that are not on satellite in NL.

Hi all. I have a question about the FM radio. I use a the dongle RTL2832U + R820T. Thanks to the help Gennar1, I managed to run the dongle on Ubuntu 13.04.
The dongle is not defined in the system.

 

Before applying the patch:

Thanks to the patch, the system detected the dongle.

Adapter 0 is SkyStar 2 and adapter 1 is DVB-T dongle.

 

How do I'm get the dongle in the FM mode? In Windows I'm use the program SDRSharp.

Hi Kazlift,

unfortunately there is no way ATM to get the FM feature working on OpenPLI.

This is because the RTL2832 cannot demodulate the FM signal by itself: what you get from the chip is a series of raw digital samples at high rate of the FM modulated signal. We would need to demodulate them using a software demodulator, which is not available for Linux.

There is some work going on in the SDR (Software Defined Radio) project, so maybe one day we will be able to get FM radio from the RTL2832.

kazlift did mention ubuntu, in that case it might be possible but not very user friendly (judging by my past attempt at receiving fm). I'll just point him in the right direction.

 

1 - To receive fm/dab most probably you cannot have any driver loaded, this means the driver from this thread of the driver that ships with recent kernels.

2 - Use google and search for "rtl sdr fm" or "rtl sdr dab", one promising result I didn't find the last time I searched for this is [1].

3 - You are mostly on your own, don't expect much hand holding or user friendly programs.

Looks like the SDR guys did some good progress since last time I checked the project ;)

FM and DAB reception is now possible on Ubuntu, according to the webpage you linked :P

Hi guys, in attachment you can find a new version of the Realtek driver patch for 3.7+ kernels.

 

The only changes since the latest version are 2 more USB PIDs that were requested a long time ago:

 

added definition of a new Terratec PCI-E stick (using the rtl2832u USB chip):
- TERRATEC Cinergy T Stick+ [ID 0ccd:00d7]
(thanks to sfasf);

added definition of a new Leadteck USB stick:
- Leadtek WinFast DTV2000 DS PLUS [ID 0413:6f12]

Have the changes been submitted to the sourceforge repository?

 

If not I can always submit an update to the package I maintain with a diff from this update.

I suppose some families will be happy with the added support of a couple more receivers :)

 

If anyone wants a diff with the changes only it is attached.

Actually attach patch. Forum didn't like plaintext patch but doesn't complain with zip file.

I wish to buy the dongle RTL2832U R820T + USB ISDB-T Digital Television Receiver.

I wonder if this is compatible with this driver.

The Noxon DAB Stick works perfectly with following drivers in Windows as DVB-T Stick:

So I assume it has the same Hardware.

The Noxon DAB stick will probably not work, as there is no support for DAB in OpenPli (or in Linux either), but it doesn't hurt to add it anyway (maybe it will work in DVB-T mode even if it's not officially supported).

Hi guys. I also have a "RTL2832U with R820T tuner" from China that I am trying to get working on a Mk802II with Allwinner A10 chip (armv7) running 32-bit Debian 3.4.67 kernel. There is no linux headers package available so modules must be compiled from the sunxi kernel source on github by Pat Wood.

The module source and header files there do not include those required for the rtl2832.ko and r850t.ko modules - only for rtl2831.ko and dvb_usb_rtl28xxu.

 

Is there a patch that can be applied to get this working and where can these source files be obtained?

 

Any help would be much appreciated.

I just wanted to say that this new driver is not working with LifeView LV5T DELUXE TV (also RTL2832U chipset). I'm using Kaffeine to watch TV and when I turn it on I see only black screen. When I go into TV settings it displays that there is sygnal on programs I scan earlier when everything worked but it cannot scan again programs (does not find anything but it shows that there is signal).

Please, with your previous driver everything was fine can you fix this issue please??!?

I have this TERRATEC T Stick+ [ID 0ccd:00d7] but it doesn't show up with my tuner configuration.

Is this patch already part of OpenPLi or do I still have to patch?

And if I have to patch, is there someone who can make an ipk file for the xtrend9000?

I'm not capable of make that myself and I get stuck in your explanation earlier on -sh: git: not found.

It's clear that I have to install the git package but that goes beyond my knowledge.

Sorry for twice this request. I didn't see my first request until I posted this one.

 

I have the Terratec T stick+ but it doesn't work here.

Is it possible that the patch is not yet part of the kernel?

I have kernel 3.8.7, OpenPLi version 4

I've tried to add the patch to the kernel myself but I got stuck when I got the message that git is not installed. Unfortunately I have little understanding of linux.

If the patch is already in the kernel, where do I find it and how to install?

Hello to all!

 

I'am sorry if this topic discussed earlier...

I have a dreambox 800 se hd (clone) with OpenPLi Ver.4.0 Image.

I recenty buy a USB DVB-T STICK "CRYPTO REDI PC 50A" (RTL2832u - 1f4d:a803 GTEK Electronics Group) and i can't install it. I can't find any driver...

Could you please help me ?

There are no OpenPLi images for clones. So it's a clone of an OpenPLi image too...

Hello, I was wondering what happened to the latest version of this patch on sourceforge. I guess I'm missing something but I have been searching for the patch that starts with "it supports several demodulators (RTL2832, RTL2836, RTL2840) and 11 different tuners" but I can't find it. I can only find an older one that says it supports 10 tuners.

 

The patch I'm looking for used to be at:

Can anyone shed some light on what happened? Thanks in advance.
