Hi all,

1. I'd lik to mount 4 shares (on a Win server) into 4 different dirs on my DB (7000). mount into existing dir works, but it will not create a new dir. So used Telnet and tried to "mkdir movies". This fails in /mnt with "Read-only File System" and in /mnt/nfs with "Permission denied" (Image PLi Garnet, 28.12.2006). Any Idea?

And another 4 questions of a Newbie:
2. Which is the file and path to tell my DB which IP it shall use instead of DHCP?
3. Should 1 be solved in which file/path may I save the mounts at DB start up?
4. Do I need to use a specific path for recordings? I think I once read about /hdd/movie(s) (but that would mean the same prob as in 1.)
5. And assume 1 is solved how can I avoid that the DB shows dirs that are hidden on the Win share?

Cheers and a happy 2007
O.

I use multiboot on USB so my file system is always writeable (so I can't test it all in your configuration). If you have the image in internal flash, the /mnt directories are read-only. This is the way Enigma images are made. Instead you could create directories in /var instead.

2. This is an internal file /var/tuxbox/config/enigma/config which is difficult to change. Enigma has its own copy in memory and will overwrite it after a restart of the Dreambox. It's not advisable to edit this file.

5. Don't know, but try to search on internet for "man smb.conf" or see the documentation at www.samba.org
