I still have a problem with the sound. I re-flashed last image and install last updates but on some movies the sound is damaged - seems like 8 bit sound.

What I can to do? Is it a bug or I have done something wrong?

I have made a sample with avidemux (linux) and it playing without a problem, but the program asked me "Index is not up to date You should use Tool->Rebuild frame. Do it now ?" After this operation all playing fine with a good sound.
And now I have a question: on old openpli image without last changes the same file was playing without any problems, is it a bug? I think it is a broblem. There are to many videos with corrupted index.

Hi guys
I tested 4 avi xvid files with AC3 sound and only on one of them the sound was good.
Other 3 had bad, intermittent sound which was useless.
I'm running the latest openpli with all updates.
I put the 4 files through mediainfo and noticed only 2 differences between the sound which played fine and those that didn't.
The file that played fine had lower bitrate - 384 Kbps than those that didn't - 448 Kbps.
It also had Alignment set to 'Aligned on interleaves' and those that didn't play fine had Alignment set to 'Split accross interleaves'.
If somebody wants to test, here are the films tested:
ATM.2012.HDRiP.AC3-5.1.XviD-SiC - sound fine
Take.Shelter.2011.LIMITED.DVDRip.XviD-SPARKS - bad sound
War Horse 2011 BDRip XviD-Larceny - bad sound
We.Bought.a.Zoo.2011.DVDRip.XviD-NeDiVx - bad sound

Hi folks

I can also confirm these problems.
I have also some movies (MKV containing DTS) with coppupted sound since the driver update last weekend.
I make daily updates by:
opkg update && opkg upgrade
and today the problems still exist.

MediaInfo of these files reports:
Format: DTS
Channels: 7 channels
Bit rate: 755 KBps
Sampling rate 48 KHz

Hi pieterg and all,

The original file with the corrupt DTS sound is to large for upload (20GByte)
So I extracted a small piece ~50MByte form the original file.
I made this by using mkvmerge.

And now the sound of the small MKV is OK (strange !!)

Because it make no sense to upload a file with correct DTS sound, I just attached the mediaInfo of both files for your information:
