Yes I've used it when I had Previous image installed with 1.6 ie
but now i use OpenPLi-3.0 with 2.0 oe and this plugin just compatible with 1.6 oe

Just for the record: OE 1.6/2.0 is something used by Dream Multimedia. OpenPLi doesn't use a DMM image as a basis, we have our own OpenEmbedded environment.

You're right
I've been installed yesterday and no problem yet
but i think is unhelpful Enough
like swap file case

also this more accurate modifiication for language.py

def addLanguage(self, name, lang, country):
  langfile="/usr/share/enigma2/po/"+lang+"/LC_MESSAGES/enigma2.mo"
				try:
	  if os.path.exists(langfile):
						self.lang[str(lang + "_" + country)] = ((_(name), lang, country))
   self.langlist.append(str(lang + "_" + country))
  except:
   print "Language " + str(name) + " not found"

note:indentation is not correct in above code

Does anyone have any further ideas on how to stop the unused languages downloading again after they have been removed after a software update has been performed ?

None of the above code works,the unused languages still download again.

Ian.

To do that, you'd have to create separate packages containing the translations for each language. This would result in about 30 packages named "enigma2-en", "enigma2-de", "enigma2-nl", etcetera. Lot of work to maintain and making upgrades and changing languages hellish.

I think when you have leak of memory... Put e plugin and extra gadgets on an usb stick and refer to it with help from a softlink...

This is to do with flash space Littlesat

These languages take up a whopping 4% of flash,which is a real shame and quite a large waste, for something I will never use.

Hence my desire to remove them permanently and not to have them come back again,when i perform a software update.

I do however already have all of my extensions folder on my HDD using a symlink to save space.

If there is no solution to this then I may have to do the same thing with the language po folder too.

If I could find a way of saving this 4% of flash space,I could then consider adding the WMV/WMA patch to my image,as this patch alone takes up 7% of flash,so you can see the reason for my desire to do this.

Much simpler options:

- Move things to USB

- Compress the flash image more (e.g. XZ or squash)

Seriously ?

Thats your best answer ?

Thats like saying rather than remove junk files on your pc,buy yourself a larger HDD.

@IMS

thats great,but the problem is they return once more after a software update,so the saved space is never really saved,its just borrowed,if you understand what i mean.

We (OpenPLi) dont have that option, nor have we the intention to build that function inside the images

All todays boxes have memory enough inside that you dont run out of space

on the Glassfibre 1GB DVB-C...

But then still they come back after an upgrade and must be removed later again via the plugin.... So you do not save really some flash...
To do this correctly you need multiple ipk packages... Just for saving 3 MB... When someone has a real solution???

My suggestion is to have some packages like this:

enigma2-languages-asian
enigma2-languages-european-north
enigma2-languages-european-south

And each pack would have some languages so it won't be a mess and so many ipk files.

Then better to do it language by lannguage... and only when it is an easy patch.... so we can at it in the plugin install/remove for example... this is also the only way to do it right.
But still why should you do it as we do not support the dmm boxes with extreme small flash anymore...?
And when you do it the only install english and with the channel selection install the language you selected... (instead of removing then afterwards)

It's not just about DMM shitboxes but why should we keep something that we don't want it? ;)
