@sector_d: there has not been a change for the et9200, the change is for old dvb api versions only (pre 5.5), the 3.8.7 kernel of your et9200 has dvb version 5.9, so the commit does not affect it.

Hi,

I don't doubt that... but the fact is the problem disappeared with my last update. But I did not make any update since 2013/06/16 and so maybe the solution is unrelated, maybe..., but is solved nevertheless -that's my point is informing the developers.

In post #28 I said:

I updated my ET9200 with 2013/06/16 and I started having the same behaviour on my receiver:

- After switching to a DVB-S2 tuner, when I try to use again a USB DVB-T dongle (RTL 2832u) the box becomes unresponsive. It's needed to switch off or telnet and issue a reboot command. After this, DVB-T works again, but If I switch to DVB-S the same behaviour repeats when trying using the usb DVB-T.

Using the et9x00 backup made before installing 2013/06/16 still works fine.

This is solved now after latest updates (I updated on 2013-06-28).

OK, so it turns out the problem started with the 20130516 image (as I expected), and not with the 20130507 image ;)I've pushed a possible workaround, please try again with tomorrows build.

I guys sorry for dragging up an old thread can I ask what the problem was and fix for the DVB-T tuner issue?

Thanks

The problem was that streaming from a USB DVB-T device did crash E2, the solution i dont remember anymore and its hard to look back as the 2.1 branch GIT was on another URL back then.

vtuner: disable dynamic PES filter start on stb's with older DVB API

    following cd64e9661ab364804b4344051bcf0716cc8b1992, it turns out
that on several stb's the stability of the vtuner interface
was dramatically reduced, now that we are dynamically starting
and stopping PES filters, as they are needed.

So for older DVB API versions, in order to work around buggy
vtuner implementations, we pre-start a PES filter, making sure
'pidcount' never drops to zero, so the filter is never stopped.
In order to have dm800 working you need two patches...

We are already using them on Satdreamgr and dm800 still works, but is getting harder every day to support this ancient box (We are thinking to freeze build).

The newer glibc has drop support for 2.6.18. New features introduced on enigma2 work with newer kernels (eventfd) and so on...

Don't blame OpenPLi for this situation. Blame DMM, they stop supporting this box and never release newer kernel drivers.

Same story just happened with newer models, they released 3.4 kernel (not 3.14!) and older models (eg dm800se and dm800sev2!) stuck with older kernel again (remeber dm7025 it's like deja vu right?)

All other manufactures provide kernel updates, so next time think again ;)
