Thank you WanWizard,

Anyone with Solo2 and a recent OpenPli 4.0, please?

Have you switched the default port to openwebif from 80 to something else?

Seems to be some vu+ problem.

google this:

"Transcoding problem from build 760 onwards"

There they are talking about this problem.

Hi, yes, I'm using a different port than 80.

Do you mean I should change it back to 80 and try again? I didn't think about that.

Yes, you can try, it seems that this causes this problem even if the webif port should have nothing to do with the transcoding port.

The "geniuses" at vu+ have screwed something up in the latest drivers again.

Well, they actually seem to have fixed things in the latest drivers:

update driver
20131106
 - Fix HDMI hotplug in standby(proc entry is also added)
 - Support DVB-T2 automatic scan(uno, ultimo, duo2)
 - Improve transcoding(duo2, solo2)
 - Add dst_apply proc entry
 - Increase demux number to 9(duo2, solo2, ultimo)
 - Support blindscan in all slots(ulitmo, duo2)

Well let's hope "Improve transcoding" does mean "solve streaming bug introduced lately".

Anyway with my not-yet-updated solo2, it works. Kind of. The first time it didn't because of a kernel OOPS caused by the driver, I had to reboot.

Indeed: some time ago it worked (a bit). At the moment it doesn't (at all).

But there is good news:

1- the DUO2 streams and transcodes well, so there is still hope for the Solo2.

2- and apparently VU+ is still working on it

And the bad news is: today's drivers only made things worse. Now also the DUO2 has a lot of streaming issues and on the Solo2 it still doesn't work.

Changing the port back to 80 seems to have fixed it for me. Thanks, rodak.

I didn't try today's drivers though.

As regards file transcoding, I can see some recent changes in OpenWebif (update transcoding stuff (filetranscoding use also port 8002)): https://github.com/E...4ef1740886aae0d

How can I implement these without running on online update on Solo2?

Can I just modify the necessary files?

Today's streamproxy update (see http://code.vuplus.c...be2c28cf14da583 ) leads to a good working transcoding for both the DUO2 & Solo2. At least in the PC-environment (tested on DUO2 & Solo2 for SD & HD Live-TV & recordings; Windows PC and VLC + MediaPlayerClassic).

Unfortunately PLi still has a very old Transcoding plugin on the feeds; I have no idea why the plugin hasn't been updated month's ago. I'm not sure if that one is still compatible.

Hello. I have VU SOLO 2 and i have flashed it with openpli4.0. I am very pleased from this image since it has many capabilities but i face a big problem with transcoding. The plugin i downloaded from the feed doesn't work and doesn't give me the ability to choose the 8002 port for transcoding. I unintalled this plugin and deleted transcoding setup folder from systemplugins and then i downloaded theTranscodingsetup.zip file that found on this topic.I extracted the folder on systemplugins. By this way i can choose 8002 and bitrate but still unable to transcode either to my pc or my android phone. On android phone appears the circle while loading but never get video and sound. Sometimes i get the message that i must refresh multimedia library. On pc, i try vlc for transcoding having erased the #ext...program:... that causes problem. And VLC give a message that can't play the stream. What am i doing wrong?

Yes it does. By default the transcoding proxy listens to both 8002 and 8003 but you can change it in the config file (/etc/enigma2/streamproxy.conf).

No not the transtreamproxy.

The STREAMPROXY is installed by default. It works out of the box, right after flashing.

Hi, I've vu+solo2, i'm traying to configure the audio transcoding and I don't get the way..

the audio on the live streaming (transcoded) is ok, it gets the right audio (spanish) but when i try to watch the same broadcast recorded the audio is another (english).

I've took a look to the confi files but i don't see any like multi-audio or something like that.. any idea??

The transcoder (streamproxy) cannot know what language you want to hear and can transcode only one audio channel, so it picks whatever is most likely to be the right one and sometimes that's wrong.
