We're quite curious to the distribution of settings lists, transponder scanning etc. over users. You can choose from multiple answers.

Thank you for your participation!

p.s. There is a similar poll in the Dutch section. Please don't answer both polls!

I usually use my own channel list wich I backuping with DreamboxEdit.
During the new software installation, I have at once the present status accustomed, which I can upload with DreamboxEdit.
I also tried the new PLI Fastscan- it's good but unfortunately there are no service providers, whom I use.
Henksat/Hans/etc. complete settings - I'm doing with these things too cluttered. With my Qboxes I use iSettingE2 and it has the same shortcomings- too cluttered. Definitely is good that these things like Henksat/Hans/etc. exists but I personally do not use them for the reasons stated above.

I don't understand any of these lists. Tried dreambox edit and I don't understand that either. So I just just fastscan (canal Digitaal) from where I copy the channels I actually watch to a folder "favorites".

I use http://www.vhannibal.net It's much more accurate. They update the entire motor settings for Enigma2 two times a month. No need to do any scans...

I would expect really, that would add more providers into Fastscan (for example Viasat lacks).
And yes, Vhannibal lists are good.
I'll try to check in future whether iSettingE2 Plugin is compatible with the PLI software, it is also pretty good and it contains Vhannibal also.
And I will try in the near future the Henksat list too. Unfortunately, I have not yet reached a try it.

Hi! I tried it and it is pretty nice
Henksat E2 Channelsettings

Astra 19.2 Astra 28.2 Astra 23.5 Hotbird 13.0 Sirius 4.8 & Thor 0.8

I like it to be slightly lower, like
Astra 19.2 Hotbird 13.0 Sirius 4.8 & Thor 0.8
Could I have a request? (remove the Astra 28.2 and Astra 23.5 and make a new and simpler list for 4 satellites). May I merge it to my list and how then update it? I understand that it will have from time to time the updates, but I want to keep also my own list besides the Henksat list. Is it possible so that my list would not write over when I'll update it with Henksat settings?

Allowing the positions to just float around is never going to work long term, and just going to cause PLi users to get annoyed and migrate to other images. I don't understand why PLi don't just use the ITU registered positions and stick to them, rather than blindly following the whims of Lyngsat.

Apparently Lyngsat, King of Sat & satbeams use drifted (i.e. actual) positions instead of the ITU-assigned positions. No idea why, but IMHO no STB-user could possibly be interested in those positions, that change on every (image) update. Instead, those changes cause a lot of issues, completely unnecessary.

I think http://satellites-xml.org/ always uses the correct locations (and besides it's very handy to 'sort' between all kinds of settings), so I suggest to use that as source for updating the image-file satellites.xml.
