With OpenPLi 4.0?

DM800HD has no Openpli 4. It's Openppli 2.1.

You would expect that it would change in all images that are current. For that particular box. I guess just the OpenPLi 4 branch has been updated.

@nautilus,

you only get a new one when you flash, it's part of the image, no longer in a package.

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Pro (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

It's being flashed two weeks ago. Before that I used DMM original image.

On that box (DM800), Openpli 4 doesn't exist.

I know it is still generated, but from the 2.1 branch, which is no longer an active branch.

For OpenPLi 4 we introduced a branding system, to make it easier for all the "Based on OpenPLi" images out there to include their own branding without having to fiddle in the repository, and also to make sure that people cloning the repository will not produce an image that boots as an official OpenPLi image, but as a "Based on OpenPLi" image. This to avoid people coming here for support because they think they have an OpenPLi image, but they haven't,

Earlier versions don't have that system, so it would require a different solution that would mean making our bootlogo available again. Which we no longer want to do.

I understand.

Well, I really don't mind which boot logo appears, I told you it  just in case somebody who had to change it manually would have forgotten it....

As pictures are nice, let's stay on Autumn.........   :P

So from now on, no matter what 4.0 box we have, the logo will not be updated through on online update?

So will my winter logo change only after a fresh flash?

Not sure what you mean, but now after updating the screen is updated to a new one (spring).

If you flash the box, you get the logo that belongs to the image you flashed. If you just update an image, the logo should not update itself.

Hmm... Then the new system isn't 100% yet.

The idea behind it is that only official OpenPLi images carry the OpenPLi logo screen. There are lots of other images out there, based on OpenPLi. They need to use their own logo screen. Since some also "borrow" our update feeds, this means that there will still be clone or non-supported hardware that carry the OpenPLi logo, and that is not what should happen...
