Hi Folks

Using Octagon SF8 Open Pli 4 - very happy with box and Open Pli stability

There is one problem - I use Open Webif always to view my channels and I also schedule recordings using VLC - I use a powershell script for that - but I'll not go into that in detail

Regardless of whether i schedule a recording or just choose a channel on Open Webif - (it opens VLC) - I ALWAYS get the NAR track on VLC by default

I DONT want this - how do i set it to just pick the english track by default  ??

The same happens when i schedule a recording - it records the NAR track.

I have tried to set use AC3 as default checkbox in Open Webif settings but it didnt work

I am not sure how to stop it making NAR the default track and instead make english default - can anyone please help ??

When streaming all audio channels are sent, VLC plays the first, which might be the NAR channel. Not much you can do about it, you can select the proper audio channel in VLC.

thank you Erik

in that case would it be possible to make a development change to OpenPli / OpenWebif ?

I guess what you would need is the facility to identify a NAR track - would it have a unique identifier ? - ie could Open Pli / Open Webif be able to recognoise a NAR track and NOT stream it

This option to not stream it could be a check box (off / on) in Open Webif settings ?

Yes its fine when I play it live - but if I schedule a recording - I am not there while the recording happens and therefore cannot change the track manually

Would a change to the software to NOT stream NAR tracks be possible (user selectable)- just a thought for the developers :) :)

Recording also have all audio tracks in them.

The tags identifying audio tracks are not standardized, we could make it work for a certain service and it would fail on all other services.

The webif has nothing to do with this process, it just gives a url to another program (either enigma itself or a streamproxy), which asks enigma what tracks are part of the requested program, and it includes all of these in the stream.
