have owned vu+ duo for about 2 years and have always had issues with box locking with previous VTI image. now using latest version of openpli and box is worse than ever. picture freezes but dialogue continues for 3 minutes then box reboots itself. sometimes locks while rebooting and sometimes lasts ok for 10 minutes or so before freezing again. any ideas?

Thanks for reply.
Is that the c807 cap that I've read about? Would that produce intermittent failure with only the picture freezing and the dialogue continuing?

Try to replace it, maybe it will fix your issue. It is easy fix and therefore worth a try.

I'm sorry to resurrect the old thread, but my problem is somewhat similar. I have finally updated the old Pli 3.0 with latest build of 4.0 today. Everything seemed to be fine, but after couple of hours, my receiver started freezing. It freezes while playing recorded movie, during regular broadcast or even while it's in the system menu. After freezing, I can reboot it only by switch. I thought it may be the issue with fan control plugin, but disabling didn't work, and uninstalling neither.

I have USB swap file activated, and I have also already changed the faulty capacitor (about a year ago). With 3.0 my vu+duo worked flawlessly. Problem started with todays update. What shoud I do to fix this problem? Almost all unnecessary plugins have already been uninstalled.

If you replaced the capacitor but not added a ceramic one, it might be gone again. Or so far gone the voltage regulator has bought it too...

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Pro (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

Sure, but as I said, everything worked perfectly fine untill I have flashed 4.0. I can't believe in such coincidence... Today I'll flash backup of previous image (OpenPLi 3.0) to check if everything is in order.

I have flashed backup of my previous image, and guess what - no more freezing. I guess the problem is related to autoinstall, or to be more precise, with some of the automatically installed aplications. I'll try to upgrade again, but not before weekend.

Fresh installation of 4.0 seems to be perfectly ok. I have just reused old timers.xml and settings files, but I have cleant settings before using it. By the way, is it normal for fan to be turning off in stand by? I am not using fan control or any similar plug in.
