When the "VU + Ultimo" is in standby I would turn off the lights touch.
How do I?
The plugin "LED Brightness Setup" allows switching off, only Deep Standby....

In the normal configs you should have an option to dim the display fully in standby...

I refer to buttons on the vu+Ultimo.
In standby are always lit.

The plug-in also has the option 'Normal state'. Here you can kill the LED's.
