===Accessing the remote control function from your desktop===

By [[http://blogs.riad.hanna.name/?p=44 Riad]]

Using the Windows operation system, I needed to send remote control
codes/presses via the LAN to control the Dreambox:

**1.** Download **WGET** for Windows and place it in C:\ //(google is your friend)//
**2.** Lunch a command prompt window (CMD) and type:
C:\wget.exe –quiet –delete-after http://ipofyourdmbox/cgi-bin/rc?X
(where ipofyourdmbox might = 192.168.1.3)

By replacing **X** with the correct code number,
the wget command will send a remote control
key press/code to the Dreambox. The flag –quite will make the
command silent, and –delete-after will make wget not write any files to C:\

===Here is a list of remote command codes:===

116=Power
2=1
3=2
4=3
5=4
6=5
7=6
8=7
9=8
10=9
158=previous
11=0
159=next
115=volume up
113=mute
402=bouquet up
114=volume down
1=lame
403=bouquet down
358=info
103=up
141=dream
105=left
352=OK
106=right
392=audio
108=down
393=video
398=red
399=green
400=yellow
401=blue
385=tv
377=radio
66=text
138=help

The above method can be used in many situations, but the way I use it
is with IR Server Suite to control my Dreambox from a different room using Media Center PC.

====Reprogramming the Large Silver Remote====
//**By Ronnie**//

**ATTENTION: executing this procedure is entirely at your own risk !!!**

//When you make a mistake when keying in the unlock code (9 - 8 - 2), your remote will no longer function, and you need a JTag interface to bring it back to live again!!//

Under normal conditions you can only change the TV code defined for the TV button on your remote, and not the code defined for the DREAM button. This is because this is blocked, so the first thing to do is to unblock it. This is how that is done:

1) Press the DREAM button (top right on your remote).
2) Press the shift button (upper left), and keep it depressed until the DREAM button flashes twice.
3) Key in the following numbers: 9 - 8 - 2. DO NOT MAKE A MISTAKE!
4) When you have chance the channel from you remote you can lock it again, Key in the following numbers: 9 - 8 - 2, and the DREAM button flashes 1 time, and you remote is locked.

After this the DREAM button should flash 4 times. If it only flashes 2times, the procedure has failed, and you have to repeat it.

Now you can change the mode setting of the DREAM button on the remote. For example:

1) Press the DREAM button (top right on your remote).
2) Press the shift button (upper left), and keep it depressed until the DREAM button flashes twice.
3) Key in the following numbers: 0 - 0 - 3 - 1. This will change the mode setting to mode 1.

Alternatively, key in 0 - 0 - 3 - 2 for mode 2, 0 - 0 - 3 - 3 for mode 3, or 0 - 0 - 3 - 4 for mode 4.

After you have done this, the DREAM button should flash 2 times. If not, it hasn't worked because it hasn't been unlocked.
