How can we use encoding file? If it affects only my box then I dont care about other languages.

sure, on your box you can do what you want ;)
What I meant is that I'm always a bit reluctant to modify the encodings file which is shipped with e2, because we cannot oversee what the implications are for other users.

The encodings file lists onid/tsid(/ssid?) pairs with custom charset overrides.
Not sure what the syntax is, but if you look in the file, and/or search our forum for 'encoding', I think you'll find some examples you can play with.

.....I did fix the problem by altering the file (as above) and I manually added ISO8859-2 encoding.....

Could you explain in some more detail as to what you changed (what do you mean by "as above", and how did you add the encoding)?

oh, sorry I was posting in another thread and got mixed up.
By editing /usr/share/Enigma2/encoding.conf and adding required ISO8859-2 in Packet Management. I've noticed later (maybe reboot changed it?) that it stopped working.
When I changed the skin to dmm-HD all fonts are working ok. Must have to do with LT6-HD skin.

Cheers

Hi,
Seems that on TV1000 Action East (4.8E, 11862V, 27500, 3/4) the subtitle encoding works like it is intended; characters are displayed correctly. On all other channels that have Estonian subtitles, the following characters are messed up: Õ, õ, Š, š, Ž, ž. I used dvbsnoop to get the teletext subtitle stream, and although I don't understand the stream fully, it seems that in TV1000 Action East case (working) the character subset is believed to be English: Character subset (c12-c14): 0 (0x00) [= English (?)].

		  data_unit_id: 3 (0x03) [= EBU Teletext subtitle data]

			 => decoded:

In case of TV1000 Premium (4.8E, 11919H, 27500, 3/4) (not working), it seems that the character subset is believed to be Italian: Character subset (c12-c14): 6 (0x06) [= Italian (?)]

I played around with /usr/share/enigma2/encoding.conf file and added some of the not working transponders there:
4 86 ISO8859-4 # Viasat 4.8E 11977 V 27.500 3/4
24 86 ISO8859-4 # Viasat 4.8E 11919 H 27.500 3/4
Tried also ISO8859-10 but it didn't make a difference. Installed the corresponding kernel modules, but still no effect. Does anyone have an idea how we could get these characters to display properly? How we could overrule the Italian character subset?

Cheers!
PS! Subtitle stream is FTA...

Hi,
the LT6-HD skin is very nice but still does not display polish characters properly. I would like to use it as I like it but lack of Polish fonts support forced me to use other skin.
Pitty.

Cheers

One problem estonian DVB subtiles - national characters are not showing properly. Look pictures for example õshows as ¤
Whether it can be improved? For example, Viasat: TV 1000 Action letter Õ is correct.(look TV 1000 Action picture)
