In the meantime, can you point me what is wrong with automatic scanning: it cannot find any service on 13.0E 11411H 27500 DVB-S2 8PSK 5/6. But when I do a manual scan of this transponder it does find all the services with no problem.

possibly some wrong info in the NIT.
Automatic scanning (with network search) will 'correct' known transponder info with NIT data.

Can you try to locate this T2 transponder in /etc/enigma2/lamedb, and check whether the last field is '1' instead of '0'?

If it isn't, try to change it to 1 (while e2 is not running), and try again.

ok, turns out the dm8000 with it's 3.2 kernel does not yet have DTV_ENUM_DELSYS support, so there is no official way to detect whether a tuner has T2 support.
I've added a workaround, which might work, if your usb tuner driver reports FE_CAN_2G_MODULATION.

If that does not work, you'll have to wait for dmm to update their kernel.

Sorry. I forgot to make channel search with 290e after flashing. But no change.

I did purchase VU+ Ultimo with three C/T tuners added with my existing PCTV 290e. Meant to be just a terrestial box. It seems OpenPLI 3.0 image for this box does not recognize em28xx drivers for PCTV 290e like the DM8000 image does. Had to go to VTI image, which automatically installs the drivers, but having typical problems with Enigma2 images. First always seeking for tuner A. Like the other images for my DM8000 tuner C. Is this matter only possible to solve after DMM realizes that T2 is existing and also the future dvb HD format? Also in Germany.

If it were the same issue as with the dm8000, my workaround would have worked for the vuultimo as well.
So it must be some different issue?

What I meant , is that with DM8000 the em28xx drivers install, but with VU+ Ultimo not.

Sorry but I have not tried it lately. Flashing with all my NAS:s takes a lot of time and effort. My first impression was that it just did not find those functioning em288xx drivers, or did not find this PCTV 290e. With the new box you maybe do not want to spend a lot of time solving too many problems. You just test another image. At the moment, I have been quite happy with this VTI.
Since, I like your efforts pieterg, if no solution is found, I will flash it, and report to you.

Coming back to this issue. When installing em28xx driver to Ultimo, it gives this message at the end:
Please migrate your /etc/modutils/_vuplus file to /etc/modules-load.d/*.conf.
I tried this, but no PCTV 290e in tunerlist.

Hi all,

I've just switched to OpenPli since I discovered that it is possible to get DVB-T2 channels using this USB tuner. How cool!

I have a similar problem to the one described in the beginning of this thread. I have modified the lamedb file. The DVB-T2 channels are now properly identified as DVB-T2, but they are greyed out. It seems this is because the USB tuner is not recognized as a DVB-T2 tuner. Have a look:

Any idea how to fix that?

Which box do you have? Or rather, which kernel version are you running?

T2 needs a rather recent kernel

Your problem has nothing to do with the displayed tuner info, on my 8000 it's the same, that's just cosmetic

you can see on the picture below everything is displayed correctly on the infobar.

I have a DM8000. I am not 100% sure how to know which kernel I am using, but uname -r gives the following:

root@dm8000:~# uname -r
3.2-dm8000

Interesting! But in my case I am not able to watch any DVB-T2 channel. I get a tuner failed error.

My only suggestion is to make sure you have the tuner set to Europe DVB-T and then do a scan and let it find the channels automatically rather than manually inputting.

btw, I didn't have do anything with lamedb file.

Just noticed you have another DVB-T tuner, it could be there is a conflict and your box is trying to use the Philips tuner, try removing it.
