I guess you have no build environment so I have compiled it for you.

Make a backup of this file /usr/lib/gstreamer-0.10/libgstdvbaudiosink.so !!!

Then unzip attached file and overwrite existing libgstdvbaudiosink.so in directory /usr/lib/gstreamer-0.10/

At best also delete this file /home/root/.gstreamer-0.10/registry.mipsel.bin

Then restart or reboot box and test.

If it works, every update can overwrite the file and you have the same problems again!

Overriding the file should be preventable by:

opkg flag hold dvbmediasink

(don't know the exact package name)

Thanks for the patch ..  i am testing it now !!

before aplying the patch , i tested last nigtly build 3.0 ,i found something strange:

-mediaplayer does shows the "moving gears" almost all the time ...  i attach picture

-This blocks the remote control , and nothing can be done while a song is playing....

I will flash an older build for the moment and test the patch...

i replaced libgstdvbaudiosink.so , but no playback is produced in mediaplayer...   :(

What did you do with original library? Did you rename it?
Hmm, you could try to delete the libgstdvbaudiosink.so and test again. But then it's likely that other sound isn't hearable.

@pieterg: Deleting the caps doesn't help, because dvbaudiosink is nevertheless used. Servicemp3 sets dvbaudiosink as sink and not alsasink. So this can't work. Am I right?

after insalling last nigtly build:

withouth the patch :
-mediaplayer: the playlist wont continue to play after first file has finished....
-playing from the command line , there is no sound

with the patch ( including old renamed file)
-mediaplayer: does not play at all
-playing from the command line ,works ok.

servicemp3 does not set any sink, playbin(2) is responsible to create the pipeline.
And when the audiosink does not have the required flags, but the alsasink cannot be used, I would expect an error message, because the pipeline will not be constructed in that case.

Renaming doesn't work. You have to delete old file or move it to other directory.
So when I understand right, everything works now?

@pieterg: Your right. Servicemp3 searches only for dvbaudiosink and uses it if found.

update : it seems to work correctly by applying betacentauri's lib in one of the last nightly builds

I've tested playing Flac files using mediaplayer  for several days and most of my files and i haven't got any errors now.

I think this solution is valid for vu+ uno , but might also work for other VU+ boxes.

uestion:   would be possible to add an alternative  libgstdvbaudiosink.so library for vu+ users in the opkg repository ?

- this would allow a clean solution for vu+ users and also to be able to debug it separately

No. I have zero tolerance for "black box" binaries in the repository.

But we'll be happy to adjust the source code and fix it in a proper way.

We cannot fix this from our side, the only thing we can do is conclude pcm-in-pes does not work in the VU+ drivers, so we should probably disable it in the dvbmediasink.

Even though it's advertised as working

I have a gut feeling that it does work on the vuolo2 and vuduo2 though.

I have only deleted the PCM caps...

You can achieve the same if you don't use "--with-pcm" as pieterg already said.

Can you do it box dependend? I mean only for VU UNO boxes? I heard from other users, that flac playback work with latest drivers on a VU+ solo2.

It's defined in the machine conf, so it can be machine specific.
