@betacentauri:
Original openpli with patched dvbmediasink + 24.12 drivers (my previous reply was somehow broken, you could missed it).
@SatKiekerd:
I was curious about your particular problem with sound + hbbtv + 24.12 drivers.
I put 24.12 drivers into openPLi and I have no problems with sound or hbbtv. No setting for acc downmix of course, nad ac3 is passthrough.

As I said: if it doesn't PLi apparently doesn't support the AAC-pasthrough/downmix as embedded in the 12/12 drivers (confirmed by Littleat), so I have no idea what influence that has.
What I do know is that on images that do support this functionality (VTi/BH/ViX) AAC-downmix has to be enabled to get sound in HbbTV.

The 12/12 VU-drivers support AAC-pass-through (until then they were always being downmixed). Pass-through means that the AAC-bitstream is offered to the amplifier.
Knowing that many AC3/DTS-compatible amp's are not AAC-compatible, a separate AAC-downmix option is available. So people can use the STB-amp for AC3 & DTS-bitstream and without changing settings also AAC-(downmixed) PCM. And people having a more capable amp can use the bitstream (downmix off) for all audio-formats.
Sounds good, doesn't it?

Hello,
Regarding the wma sound (in BH), i just received the information from a vu duo user that got sound after installing gstreamer! If they are using gstreamer (software decoding!!!!!) for sound it's logic that none of our experiments didn't work.
Maybe that applies only on old cpu (and old kernel 3.1.1) machines, maybe not i cannot confirm. (I would like to see content of BH but "howto/guides" for extracting ubi didn't work for me on Ubuntu 12.04 LTS, neither shareware gutemines tools worked, so please point me to the right direction).

Absert that the downmix setting is required for acc.... If this is really required then leave it on all time...
At least no issues here with et boxes with hbbtv and sound...
So I hope this subtle difference between 'absurd' and 'added functionality' will lead to support from PLi for that.I think there is a bit of misunderstanding here.

New patch and files!
Mistery with sound solved (thanks to devilcosta at satdreamgr forum). Drivers never support WMA, they are using ffmpeg (software decoding)....
vuplus: Use same dvbmediasink as in code.vuplus.com The new drivers with WMV support are not working with OpenPLi images because OpenPLi uses an implementation of dvbmediasink compartible with Xtrend and XP drivers. Vu is using dreambox dvbmediasink witch is incompartible with OpenPLi. This patch creates a new dvbmediasink, same as in code.vuplus.com with an extra patch that fixes wma sound. Also gst-ffmpeg added as RDEPEND because drivers don't support WMA, so it is done via sofware decoding. Thanks to macnuts, SatKiekerd and satdreamgr team for testing patches and providing feedback. Special thanks to devilcosta from satdreamgr for finding that gst-ffmpeg was the culprit. Here are the files required (install using same order):

PS. First remove gst-plugin-dvbmediasink (opkg remove gst-plugin-dvbmediasink) before installing gst-plugin-vuplus-dvbmediasink or install using --force-overwrite.

Do the update files include the new drivers for Solo2?
When I update online, will I have the updated OpenPli 4.0 including the new drivers for Solo2?
I installed the 04 November 2013 dated OpenPli 4.0 and update online since that day. Do I have all the new features of OpenPli 4.0 or I need to flash with the new one?
Thank you very much in advance.
