Installation on DM7025, DM800 or DM8000

How to Flash using the http method

  1. Download our latest image
  2. Shut down the Dreambox into deep standby (use the menu or flip the power switch)
  3. Connect the Dreambox and the PC to the network. You need a DHCP capable modem or server, or configure your PC to do so. If you’re unsure, simply try if step 6 succeeds. If you connect the Dreambox directly to a PC, just enable the “internet sharing” function on the PC which will enable its DHCP function.
  4. Press and hold the “down” button to the left of the display. While holding the down button, press the power button or flip the switch to start it.
  5. Wait for the text “* * * STOP * * *” to appear in the display. Then you can release the down button.
  6. On the display, an IP address appears, usually in the form “192.168.1.42″. Start a browser on your PC and go to this address, e.g. “http://192.168.1.42/”.
  7. You should get a web page for the Dreambox. At the bottom is a link that says “Upgrade firmware”, follow this link.
  8. Select the image .nfi file with the browse button, and press the “Flash” button. Also press the “reboot when finished” button, so that the box will restart once the update is ready.

    I downloaded last nights build, tried to upload it to the DM800, but got the message invalid image or old version. Tried it with different browsers and with older builds.

          you need to flash the box with the latest bootloader first, i think its version #ssl 84b. just google rami maher #ssl84b and flash the small 150K .nfi image first then flash openpli then flash the bootloader again before clicking reboot.

      Hi, I got the same message “invalid image or old image”, despite the fact that I tried the last 4 openpli images for the DM800 of 20-11-2011 and some days before. How did you solve it?

    Is there an other way to flash the DM7025? By telnet or something?
    When i brows to http://192.168.2.46 i’ll get dreambox webcontrol and no Upgrade firmware button.

      Try to use refresh button of your browser….maybe there is an old data in the browser cache

    Hallo, I just bought the DM7020HD, my first Dreambox.
    Does anyone know if this “How to Flash using the http method”
    also functions on this new Dreambox. Ofcourse I can try, but I’m
    new and don’t know if I demage something. I use Openpli 2.1

    Have put latest from DMM to be sure bootloader etc is up tp date but after this still getting INVALID message when I try to image it with PLI (dm800) Is Openpli not for original boxes??

      Never mind post, apparently it’s not enough to have latest dmm image. Just use dreamup from DMM site and use nullmodem cable… that works fine.

    After installation, during boot, display dm800hd written “..ERROR! Look d.7020.com *ERRO1: NO CA FOUND..”

      Use dreamup from dmm website with nullmodem Cable and you should be able to recover and install image. Unless your box is à clone, in that case Google.

    Does not allow saving other satellite installation, except astra 19,2. The dm800hd crashes immediately and downloading and ready to reboot.
    Manual click on restart boot also crashes the box

    Hi,

    I installed the E2 pli image on my DM8000 – img date shown under info is 24th July 2011.
    Packages, updated vis s/w update, are up-to-date.

    My qu is: Is the box really running the latest img now, or is it running the old img updated with all patches relevant to that?

    Putting it another way: If I re-install from scratch, will I have something newer?

    Hi, I have a Dreambox 500c. It stopped working totally. When I switched on, all I get is flashing of OPEN PLi ‘wallpapper’ image. I can’t access or navigate any command. It looks like a factory setting with no data. Can anyone kindly guide me on how to fix this problem and get the breambox going please.     PLEASE……HELP……after flashing image ……no boot my dm 800……../flash/vmlinux.gz and stuck…..(before flash pli image ….flash secondboot loader 84)……
